Attention HCS Families!
HCS will begin the 2021-2022 school year operating on a pre-COVID schedule. Students will attend school each day face-to-face Monday through Friday from 7:45am-3pm. At this time, there will not be an option for remote learning. Masks will be optional for students and staff. HCS staff will still encourage frequent hand-washing and sanitizing efforts, and students are asked to bring water bottles daily for hydration.
HCS admin will continue to update families as state mandates change in the Strong, Safe Schools Toolkit which has been the guiding document for NC schools during the COVID-19 pandemic. We look forward to a return to a consistent learning experience this year!
We know that learning is easier when you have an excellent teacher. That's why most of our educators have achieved an advanced degree in their field. Our faculty are passionate about the subjects they teach and bring this enthusiasm into their lessons.
Our curriculum is state of the art and we pair it with project based learning, multi-age collaboration, and small class sizes. Hobgood Charter School provides scholars with the skills to succeed both in and out of the class room.
Located in Hobgood, NC we sit at the meeting point of Halifax, Edgecombe, and Martin Counties. We are a elementary school and middle school and we love the people and businesses of our community. We exist to serve the needs of our scholars and their families.

We are committed to excellence by helping each student achieve his or her potential in a rigorous, supportive environment. Our school also provides opportunities for students to build character that values sound judgement, exemplary behavior, and respect for their fellow man. Each student will be equipped to lead a healthy, productive life that is economically stable, moral, and fulfilling. Collaboration among all stakeholders is essential to the achievement of this mission.
